I just came into these sticks and want to know more. Fat like 2S, with a short, crazy taper to a small pedestaled tip. Marking at butt ends reads, “Stone 11.”
George Lawrence Stone sticks, maybe? I know that he took over his father’s drum and drumstick making business, only to close it down in the 1930s in favor of devoting more time to teaching. How can I confirm that they’re from George Stone?
Thanks in advance for any help.

10 months agoBeth, yes they are Stone Master model #11 sticks. They are shown in my 1925 Stone catalog on page 38. Considered Concert Band models. 11/16th in diameter and 16 inches long. Ting

10 months agoBeth and Ting. Can we collaborate on an article for NSMD about those sticks and your Stone catalog?
Beth Hamon
10 months agoSure. I think. Not clear on what else I can provide other than my photos. Ting seems to have the supporting documentation.

4 months agoCame across your post -not sure of the state of the article on this subject, but I have 3 excellent to mint pairs of drum George B Stone sticks if you wanted to include. Doesn’t look like I can attach photos here and haven’t launched my website yet on vintage sticks, pads, instruction book and drums.
