Beatlemania Remco Liverpool Compact Snare Drum Kit 1966

Was this your first drum set? Are you the one who broke the drum the first time you played it?

Many drummers can recall their first drum set, often ordered straight out of the Sears Toy Catalog, that they managed to destroy within hours of getting it out of the box. The "Liverpool Compact" name is an obvious reference to The Beatles, who were exploding at the time and inspiring millions of kids to play rock and roll. This is from 1966. Remco was THE company the made all the Beatle dolls and lots of other merch. The photo of the Ringo doll shows what Remco made back then. It is NOT included!!!

This Remco Liverpool Compact Snare Kit, toy drum set would make a great addition to any legit drum collection. Comes in original printed box. It even has the tuning wrench, the stand, the brushes, but only one drumstick. I took it apart and learned that it's basically a big cardboard tube. The hoops, lugs and throwoff are plastic. The drumhead hoops, rods, nuts and the stand are all steel. The throwoff still works. It is totally playable and sounds pretty good. It ain't DW, but that's not the point. I was old enough to have watched the Beatles on the Ed Sullivan Show and it changed the entire world.
