Beautiful, immaculate, CANOPUS 14 X 5.5 Carbon Fiber Snare Drum. MINT!
I am the original owner, and this one is Number 00001--The VERY 1st Carbon Fiber Snare made by Canopus, that I purchased at NAMM, about 20 years ago. (See photo of label inside shell.)
It was used for one singer-songwriter recording project, and then kept carefully stored in my smoke-free, climate controlled studio. After the recordings were made, I replaced the batter head.
Chrome die-cast hoops, chrome over solid brass single-point lugs, leather Canopus washers on the tuning rods, chromed solid brass vent plug, 20-strand proprietary Canopus snare wires.
This snare can be powerful and loud, with a smooth, controlled sound, and it responds great at all tensions.
I'm probably pricing this low, and I don't know how much value the ultra-RARE serial number may be worth, but needless to say, it is both a wonderful instrument and a collector's item.
