Rare Brad Davis handmade Conga/Ashiko cross

Beautiful BD Custom drum #670 from the 1990s. Made of White Ash wood, with threaded tuners with custom aluminum anchors. Deep collar calfskin head protects hands from rim contact. The vented bottom with protective epoxy finish transmits bass resonance without needing a stand. Height 30", weight 17.6 lbs.

Very solid, no cracks, always stored indoors in a smoke free environment. This keepsake drum makes a striking visual appearance... very few of these were ever made. There are a couple minor nicks, as this drum has actually travelled a bit and been played with dance groups and drum circles. Otherwise it is clean and like new.

Black canvas soft case is included. The photos of the drum standing upright make it appear more sharply tapered than it really is. Check the photo of the drum lying down to see the correct proportions. The head's free diameter is 10", black steel hoop is 12". The tapered shell is roughly 7.5 inches diameter at the bottom and has ten "facets". The drum's tone is "middle conga" with a nice bell-like harmonic resonance. The bottom edge is protected by a heavy epoxy coating where it contacts the floor.

Shipping charges will be the actual cost of packing in a custom cardboard box, shipping and insurance to your address with the carrier of your choice, so the $150 is only an estimate.
