Late 80's Ludwig Supersensitive Bronze 6.5x14 - No "B" mark makes this drum one from the first factory run - I'm the original owner - having purchased it new on special order from National Music in Massachusetts. It is an incredible drum, and I haven't played in years, so it's time to pass it onto another.
The shell has some blemishes in the finish, as would be expected in a 35 year old drum, and some of the tension rods are not original to the drum, and the top rim has two cracks - so it should be replaced. The snare adjustment works perfectly, although one side is off-centered and I don't want to adjust it - it sounds spectacular. This was my main snare from the 80's until '00 - and the amount of accolades I got from other drummers and musicians about it was crazy. This drum has the bite of metal and the warmth of wood, and the range of tones you can get out if it are huge.
I worked with Tom Scholz, guitarist of the band "Boston", and we used this drum for sampling on the 4th record "Walk On" - Known as a stickler for sound, Tom chose this drum to record samples from.
Many more pictures available on request.
Shipping cost will be actual, I put in $75. as a estimate - will only ship to North America.
