"The Black Brass offers a 1mm gauge 14 x 6.5 brass shell, plated in black nickel chrome. This limited edition model has fittings and snare wires in finished gold. The drum also has a super smooth Nickel Drumworks piston drive strainer also finished in Black and Gold. The heavy die-cast rims have ten lugs and the drum is completed with the original Gretsch Permatone drum heads.

11 months agoPlease examine the inside of your shell very closely. Remove the batter head and use a flashlight. Gretsch never described this shell as "seamless". The drum I have (same model but with chrome hardware), is NOT seamless. Most people cannot hear the difference, but it IS an important construction feature, and always adds value, due to the method of contruction. I did see another seller listing for this model and had the same error in the description. I found the 2016 Gretsch Price List with these snares (as well as the New Classic Ltd Ed Chrome Over Brass version) - and the description is absent of the term "seamless" as well.
