Louie Bellson's Bronze-Finished Rototoms (1979) 14" 16"

These 14" & 16" rototoms used to belong to Louie Bellson.  According to vintage drum expert Rob Cook, author of “The Slingerland Book” et. al., "these Roto-toms were custom plated for Louie Bellson."

The rototoms come in Louie's old fiber case with Louie's name stenciled on the sides and an address label from Drum World in San Francisco to a home Louie lived at many years ago.  These have normal wear and tear, scuffs, and light scratching as you would expect, since they are more than 40 years old.

According to Ron Weinstein, the inventor of Tuxedo Bags, “The Roto Tom’s were from July ‘79. There were two sets made for Louie’s month long appearance with Wayne Newton at the Desert Inn Las Vegas. Used once more in December 79 at the Slingerland Bellson drum contest also in Vegas.”

Mr. Weinstein sent me the attached photo that shows him, Louie, and Wayne from 1979.  You can see the rototoms next to Louie.
