When I bought this drum it was painted red. I had the paint removed then stained and lacquered at a professional furniture shop. The edges were done by Memphis Drum Shop. The arm of the strainer is a replacement. . You will see marks near the top rim. This happened when putting a low quality mesh head on . It is not visible with head and rim on. The top rim is slightly out of round but does not present a problem for tuning. The shell is in round and trued ( again Memphis Drum Shop)
