Price cut! Gretsch Square Badge 1980 24, 16, 13, 6.5 x 14 w bags

$2000 or best offer. 1980 Square Badge USA Custom Gretsch Rosewood finish drum set with 14x24 virgin bass, 9x13 small tom, 16x16 floor tom, 6.5x14 double lug snare drum. Snare stands not included. In excellent condition, this 40+ year old kit has Jasper maple/gum shells and a rosewood stain finish in very good condition - some minor scuffs and scratches but nothing through the finish. No fading. No rust or pitting on the metal parts. The insides of the drums are immaculate. Brand tags are in each drum. There is a little bit of evidence of a pillow or something that left a mark in the bottom of the bass drum. Both toms have top and bottom mufflers. Good Remo heads all around. Good bass drum Evans batter head. There are several minor un-original parts: the Gretsch lightning throw-off and butt (always problematic) were replaced with a Ludwig P85 throw off and Ludwig butt plate. There were extra holes drilled for these and the original holes are hidden underneath those parts. The tom holder bracket on the small tom is not original but is the right hole size. The Gretsch inside backing plate for that bracket is original. These drums sound just like you would expect them to: Lots of tone, punch and resonance at any tuning. That "Great Gretsch Sound". I bought these from a friend of mine and know that he took care of them. I've played them several times and they are as good as it gets with Gretsch. It's hard to find a Gretsch kit this old in this good condition. Any of the minor scratches probably came from previous owner (s). The bags that come with the set are nice padded galaxy bags. The price is the same whether with or without the bags.

Shipping is an estimate. Buyer will pay exact shipping to his or her zip code before the kit is shipped. I will post extra pictures of specific features if prospective buyers request. Call me with any questions 330 338 6035
