Doc Sweeney Royal Ebony Stave Snare Drum 15x6.5

Drum is brand new and unplayed; it was taken out of it's box for a thorough inspection and pictures then packed right back up.
It's 5/8" thick at the re-rings and has a 5/16" body thickness, It has 30 degree roundover edges, 10 proprietary tube lugs, Doc Sweeney DS1 multi position throw off and butt plate, Puresound Custom 20 strand wires, Evans Heads, and 2.3 mm triple flanged hoops
If you're unfamiliar with Doc Sweeney drums, then let me tell you that they're a force to be reckoned with. With so many boutique builders out there you're probably jaded and skeptical about the idea of another boutique drum company but, Steven, the main man at Doc Sweeney, is a seasoned craftsman and knows what he's doing when it comes to building drums. They specialize in steambent and stave drums, each of which I happen to own, and I can attest to the utter build quality of their drums; they even have proprietary hardware. You can't get a higher quality instrument for the price; the bang for your buck is absurd with this company.
If you've never played a 15" snare drum you're in for a treat. 15" snares are fuller, fatter, and more versatile than 14" snares. They have an extended lower and upper tuning range, and cut through the mix more than a 14" snare.
Royal Ebony wood is a dense and hard wood, more than twice as hard as maple and, as you may know, the higher a material's density the more resonant it is. The wood is very durable and has a high decay resistance and is resistant to insect attacks. It's got a beautiful chocolate brown color and a naturally high luster; you'd think this drum was sprayed with a clear lacquer but it only has a couple coats of hand rubbed oil. I couldn't help but stare at it for a good while when I took it out of it's box.
