Tama Swingstar Seamless Steel Snare Drum Shell 14x6.5 MIJ

Shell is in fantastic condition for its age. It's in round, and has no dent's, dings, pitting, or scratches; though there are some slight indentation marks left by the lugs and heads as you can see in the pictures. Bearing edges are clean.
This is the same shell that is used on the Tama Kingbeat snares of the 80s. The difference between the Kingbeat and Swingstar snares was the hardware and lug count; Kingbeat has 10 lugs and the Swingstar has 8. These old Swingstars are a basic, no-nonsense, snare drum with a less complicated snare mechanism.
Tama provided incredible value for the money in their "entry level" drums as they were an up-and-coming company at the time, and needed to make a name for themselves but, this is far from entry level, heck it's even made in Japan! Being seamless in construction, just like the Ludwig Black Beauty, it produces a purer and fatter note, and having an 8 lugs provides you with a more open and resonant drum.
Just slap some lugs, hoop, and heads on it and you got yourself a high quality instrument for about a third of the price of a brand new snare.
